International Longshoremen's Association members voted nearly 2-to-1 Tuesday to ratify a contract extension that promises labor peace in East and Gulf Coast ports through September 2012.

ILA Master Contract Ratification Vote - Tuesday, November 17, 2009

International Longshoremen's Association delegates voted overwhelmingly Wednesday for a two-year extension of the union contract covering 18,500 Atlantic and Gulf dockworkers.

Bayonne Bridge Too Low, Corps Study Says

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on Thursday released the results of a study by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers saying the Bayonne Bridge’s low air draft will pose an increasing obstacle for the newest and largest commercial ships in coming decades.
